On Feb. 18, 2015 a working group of the UNC Board of Governors recommended that the Poverty Center be “discontinued.” The full board voted to close the Poverty Center, along with two other centers, at its Feb. 27, 2015 meeting in Charlotte.

The Center may close, but thanks to the UNC School of Law and other friends, the work will continue.
