David W. Chen has been The Times’ City Hall bureau chief since 2008. He has delved into topics ranging from Mayor Bloomberg’s record on diversity to former Congressman Anthony Weiner’s volatile managerial style.

Before that, Mr. Chen served as Trenton bureau chief, reporting on everything from the 2006 government shutdown to Gov. Jon Corzine’s ubiquitous sweater vest. He has covered many political campaigns, including the 2009 mayor’s race, 2006 U.S. Senate race in New Jersey and the extra-inning 2010 Connecticut governor’s race.
