Jasmine Turner

Jasmine Turner is an Emmy-award winning reporter and weekend anchor for NBC 12 News.

She joined the team in October 2016. Jasmine was born and raised in Henrico County, and attended The Richmond Montessori School and The Collegiate School. Her college years were spent at Elon University, where she graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Before returning to Richmond, Jasmine was a multimedia journalist and weekend anchor for WECT News in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Jasmine has covered several breaking news events in Central Virginia, such as the chaos in Charlottesville in August 2017, and the deadly tornadoes caused by Hurricane Florence in September 2018.

She frequently hosts NBC 12’s Digital Dialogues, which are round table community conversations streamed exclusively on the NBC 12 News App, Amazon Fire, Roku and the NBC 12 Facebook page.

Jasmine enjoys spending time in the community, through serving on several boards, speaking to students and school groups, hosting events, and learning more about the people who make the Commonwealth of Virginia a great place to live, work and thrive.

She is ecstatic to be back in her hometown, reporting and anchoring for the station she grew up watching.

When she is not on air, Jasmine loves to sing, shop, travel and spend time with loved ones, her husband Marcelus, and their rescue dog Libbie!
