I am a 1984 Miami University graduate and worked at The Cincinnati Enquirer from 1993 through November 2014. I covered social justice and minority affairs. Prior to moving to Cincinnati, I worked as a reporter and assistant editor/Life at the News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C. I am the author of “A Promise in Haiti: A Reporter’s Notes on Families and Daily Lives,” Vanderbilt University Press, spring 2011: http://www.vanderbilt.edu/university-press/book/9780826517838 It is a 2011 silver level winner in the social sciences category of Foreword Reviews’ Book of the Year contest.
