“When somebody prepares a directive they are giving their family the gift of telling them ahead of time what they want,” said Catherine Cutler, staff counsel and development director with Contra Costa Senior Legal Services.
“What it avoids is terrible family infighting and everyone gathered around trying to decide what the person wants.”
Three pro bono attorneys from AIG’s staff counsel office in Concord will be available by appointment from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on the second Thursday of the month at the Concord Senior Center, 2727 Parkside Circle.
