It’s a challenge that is met with legal aid services. But that help is often hard to come by with only thirty legal aid attorneys serving the entire state. The Mississippi Access to Justice Commission partners with agencies and private attorneys to help people with civil legal aid. Hinds County Chancery Court Judge Denise Owens tells MPB’s Desare Frazier much of the need for legal aid comes in cases involving children and guardianships.
