In North Carolina so far, more than 534,000 people have enrolled in health plans through the ACA marketplace for 2017. Enrollment continues through Jan. 31.

Last year, more than 23,000 people in Buncombe County selected plans through the health insurance marketplace.

“We hope to slow down the (repeal) process and urge our elected officials to continue treating this with the seriousness it deserves,” said Brendan Riley, policy analyst for the N.C. Justice Center. “Ultimately a repeal without a replacement is a nightmare scenario.”
