The Trump administration’s budget proposal, released this week, has called for eliminating Legal Services Corp., which has a current appropriation of $385 million.

Stein, a Democrat, joined a bipartisan group of 32 attorneys general in urging Congress to oppose the Trump administration’s proposal.

“These resources provide critical legal support for people in dire situations,” Stein said in a news release. “Everyone deserves access to quality representation and fair treatment in the justice system. I urge Congress to continue to fund this important program.”
