Indiana legal service helps keep seniors and endangered adults from harm

Kim Pike says she felt like a prisoner in her own home but she was able to take back her home, thanks to attorney Jessica Brock and the LAVA program.

Because of LAVA, Pike said, she has her life back and isn’t afraid anymore because those family members can’t hurt her. [LAVA] was also able to get all three evicted from Pike’s home, and the court awarded the woman a $6,000 judgment for the damages done to her house. Now she is sharing her story so more people can know about LAVA and potentially get the help they need.
