On March 23, March 23rd, Central Virginia Legal Aid Society successfully persuaded a judge to grant the Richmond sheriff authority to not carry out evictions during the COVID-19 outbreak.  This news story looks at the circumstances of Ebony Goode, the woman whose case was behind that decision. Unfortunately, the protection for Ms. Goode and her newborn, and for millions of other families who are losing most or all of their income due to the pandemic, is temporary.
