DETAILS

Pisgah Legal Services Executive Director Jim Barrett, and Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy Executive Director Ken Schorr challenge North Carolina’s legislature to 1) expand Medicaid to cover 500,000 residents who do not have health insurance, 2) resurrect the state’s Unemployment Insurance program, which is currently “the cruelest unemployment insurance program in the entire country,” and 3) restore state funding for civil legal aid to help people meet basic needs during COVID-19 and beyond.
