Threatening to turn families out of their homes during the coronavirus fight isn’t just morally suspect; it’s dangerous, says Matthew Desmond, author of “Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City” and principal investigator of the Eviction Lab. We agree, and would add that allowing millions to be evicted without the legal help they need to stand up to wrongful evictions is also undeniably wrong.
