LSC funding: Fiscal year 2019

The President’s fiscal 2019 budget request proposed to eliminate funding for the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), which provides federal funding for civil legal aid. Under the federal budget process, Congress is supposed to approve 2019 appropriations spending bills by September 30, 2018.

Congress and communities need to hear that LSC funding is vital to protect justice.
